Abandoned rooms make up the earlier portions of Jeffery’s work, although I don’t believe the focus is about the building, but rather the ambiguous occupancy of the space.  Some images seem to imply the presence of a person, living in filth, either due to poverty or indifference to their surroundings.  

There’s a keen balance between the element of documenting a habitat and his use of colors and depth of field that makes this standard, almost exhaustively exploited subject matter interesting again.  I’m glad there are no people in these images.
